Accepting the 2024 Women in Leadership Award, Lincoln Financial and Lincoln Financial Foundation SVP and Chief Diversity Officer Allison Green Johnson shared LFG’s unwavering commitment to empowering women and other underserved communities, noting that “a rising tide lifts all boats,” and “when one of us improves, we all benefit.” In addition to being led by CEO Ellen Cooper, LFG has a robust representation of women – 45 percent – in leadership roles. Allison called on attendees to ensure that all our workplaces are inclusive and to take tangible and measurable actions to uphold equity. She also shared her seven points of leadership to create successful teams and a vibrant culture:
- Think big and communicate pragmatically
- Be bold, innovative and take risks
- Be transparent and encourage transparency
- Be—and serve as—an advocate
- Be decisive
- Balance both: hard truth and optimism
- Influence others through inclusion
About the Award
The Main Line Chamber of Commerce and it’s Society of Professional Women are proud to present the Women in Leadership Award, to recognize outstanding professional women in our area. The award is presented annually to a woman who has achieved exemplary professional and personal accomplishments, in addition to her positive impact upon the Greater Main Line area. The nominees for this prestigious award include senior level executives from both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, who have contributed significantly to the betterment of the Main Line community.
