Comcast Business named Endorsed Provider of The Main Line Chamber of Commerce and Title Sponsor of the Society of Professional Women

Comcast Business has been named the Endorsed Communications Services Provider of The Main Line Chamber of Commerce and Title Sponsor of the Society of Professional Women program for 2017. This collaboration with the MLCC and SPW will create opportunities for Chamber members to receive discounts on services and products, while also supporting programming throughout the year.

Scanlon Joins 11 Main Line Chamber Members Also Recognized by Main Line Today

Rose Ann Scanlon, Facilitator of the Society of Professional Women, a program of The Main Line Chamber of Commerce, was honored today at the Main Line Today Women on the Move event. This program recognized 24 leaders of local and national significance to recognize outstanding women of the Main Line and the Western Suburbs who are leaders in their respective fields.

Eleven Main Line Chamber members were among today’s honorees.

YEARS ago, while producing the hit TV series “The Shield,” Glen Mazzara noticed that two young female writers were quiet during story meetings. He pulled them aside and encouraged them to speak up more.

Watch what happens when we do, they replied.

Almost every time they started to speak, they were interrupted or shot down before finishing their pitch. When one had a good idea, a male writer would jump in and run with it before she could complete her thought.

Sadly, their experience is not unusual.

We’ve both seen it happen again and again. When a woman speaks in a professional setting, she walks a tightrope. Either she’s barely heard or she’s judged as too aggressive. When a man says virtually the same thing, heads nod in appreciation for his fine idea. As a result, women often decide that saying less is more.

6 Strategies To Land That “Long Shot” Job

Think about how many times you’ve seen a job opportunity that you know you could absolutely rock; yet that voice in your head is saying, “If only I had an MBA, a few more years of experience, and knowledge of that industry…THEN, I’d definitely have a chance.”

Selena Rezvani who has written two fantastic books and countless articles on the topic of women’s leadership, and speaks all over the nation, highlighted a study that really stuck with me.

It was a study conducted by Hewlett Packard, in an effort to figure out how to get more women into top leadership positions. They found that women applied for a promotion only when they believed they met 100% of the qualifications listed for the job. Men on the other hand, applied when they had just 60% of the qualifications. Since then, study after study has confirmed that underqualified men don’t think twice about putting a hat in the ring, whereas overqualified women still hold back.

So, should you stand still, or just go for it?

You should go for it!

Powerful Strategies to Increase Your Closing Ratio Immediately

photo(6)Smart business people know that a high closing ratio is essential to achieving great income with reasonable hours. Tracking and measuring your effectiveness closing sales can help you dramatically improve the speed with which you achieve your goals.

Here are a few key criteria to look at:

  • How much activity does it take to get a client into a “Buying Conversation?”
  • How many client “Buying Conversations” does it take you to make a sale?
  • How many sales do you need each week to achieve your business and income goals?

Increasing your income and reducing your working hours starts with tracking and measuring your Closing Ratio and then creating the ideal conditions to improve it so that you can get the best result (most sales) with the least effort (fewest conversations).
